EBS celebrates carnival success!

Eastbourne Carnival is one of the highlights of the town’s community calendar, and we were proud to take part this year, bringing together creativity, teamwork, and plenty of imagination under the 2026 theme “Lights, Camera, Action!”

Our entry embraced the spirit of the big screen, with members dressing as some of their favourite film characters and icons. Our entry featured a wonderfully eclectic mix including Monty Python-inspired comedy characters, Alice in Wonderland, Toy Story favourites, and even a member transformed into a striking Oscar statue.

The float itself was transformed into a travelling theatre experience. Our trailer became a giant cinema screen, complete with popcorn and all the fun of a night at the movies, helping to bring the theme to life for the crowds along the seafront.

Behind every carnival entry is a huge amount of work and dedication. From designing and building the float to sourcing costumes, and coordinating on the day, it is a true community effort. Being part of Eastbourne’s community is what we do, and events like this highlight just how important all local groups are in making the carnival possible. Without the commitment of community organisations, there simply would be no event.

We were delighted to be awarded a rosette by the judges for Best Community Entrant, which is a fantastic recognition of everyone’s hard work and enthusiasm.

We would also like to extend our thanks to the organisers of Eastbourne Carnival for putting together such a brilliant event and for continuing to champion community participation across the town. You can find out more about their work here:
